Aachener Chemische Werke GmbH was founded in the late 19th Century as a manufacturer of chemicals for the textile industry.

With the invention of the Floatglass process, the focus of the company's business changed to the production of processing chemicals for the glass industry.

From then on, with the success of glass cutting fluids, the company started on the development and marketing of products specially designed for all kinds of glass processing and has, since 1958, been the leading worldwide manufacturer of high performance processing chemicals for the glass industry. ACW serves the flat glass, optical and hollow glass industries.

ACW has created an extensive worldwide sales and service network of sister companies and agencies active in more than 50 countries and is able to combine the strength of a global organisation with the flexibility and customer-orientation of a local player.

With more than 50 years of experience our main target is to become closer to our customers, to help improve processes and increase both efficiency and productivity.
