AC SEPAROL DP / AC SEPAROL M

AC SEPAROL M and AC SEPAROL DP are silicate-based powders. They are used as separating agents in the bending process of flat glass. A typical field of application is the manufacture of windshields.

Contrary to AC SEPAROL M AC SEPAROL DP is not a crystalline material.

Recommendations for use:

Both products can be applied as powder or in suspension. The quantities to be applied widely depend on the applicator available so that exact concentrations cannot be given. Recommended quantities 2 - 4 gr/m².

To apply the materials as powders both automatic applicators (e.g. Grafix-sprayer) and manual systems (e.g. spray pistol, nylon stocking etc.) are suitable.

To apply the products in suspension commercially available sprayers can be used. For this purpose the powder has to be suspended in water or a water/alcohol mixture. Usually, the concentration of the suspension is between 2 % and 4 %.

Both products allow an easy separation of the glasses after the bending process and can be easily removed with water.

Remarks

After the bending process both products can also be removed with a vacuum cleaner or manually with an appropriate cloth. If it is not possible to remove the separating agent completely from the glass AC SEPAROL DP should be used.

Handling

AC SEPAROL M has to be labelled as ”harmful“in accordance with EC directives or respective national laws. AC SEPAROL DP is not subject to mandatory marking in accordance with EC directives.

Storage

Both products stored in well-closed containers at temperatures between 5 to 40 °C have a shelf-life of minimum 1 year.
