Interleavant Powders

AC SEPAROL - Interleavant Powders

When flat glass is transported an interleavant must be used between the panes, as otherwise the pieces of glass, due to adhesion forces or as a result of a chemical reaction, stick together so tightly that the user is unable to separate them. Traditionally paper was used for this in the glass industry. However, this was known to have the disadvantage of leaving residues on the glass (so-called paper marks) which make the glass unusable. In addition, the process is extremely costly.
Since glass surfaces can corrode during transport or while in storage, additives are added to these polymer particles (generally special acids) to prevent corrosion.

ACW is offering a wide range of different pure interleavant powders and interleavant powders with anti-stain protection.

PURE INTERLEAVANT POWDERS

AC SEPAROL is specially designed to protect the glass during the transport against scratching.

  • The glass panes do not stick together.
  • The interleavant powder can be washed off easily without leaving any traces or marks.
  • AC Separol has a very narrow grain size distribution curve.

INTERLEAVANT POWDER WITH ANTI-STAIN PROTECTION

The anti-stain interleavant powders contain special acids in different percentages.

  • They are specially designed to give a transport protection in combination with an anti-stain effect.
  • The glass panes do not stick together.
  • The interleavant powder can be washed off easily.
  • AC Separol has a very narrow grain size distribution curve.
